Our Client is a Leading Conglomerate providing hydraulic tools and systems, position and motion control systems, and various specialized products and services in more than 25 countries.  

 

Business Contribution:

  • The key function of the Technical Sales Engineer (Western Africa Area) is the development of new customers in his/her designated region, to ensure that the Sales Entity is able to meet its growth targets through excellent communications and sales skills. Cross border (inter-company) communication is a prerequisite and as a result will make knowledge of the English language essential.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute day-to-day business improvement activities.
  • Maintain the customer relationship and channel of distribution to ensure sustainable and adequate business information, and achieving the sales targets.
  • Promote product ranges to achieve sales and profit targets in the region.
  • Visits and customer demonstrations, including advice and guidelines for prescribing tenders
  • Analyze the territory to identify the main target customers and potential distributors.
  • Establish and develop a successful partnership with distributors in the area.
  • Establish and develop a thorough understanding of the environmental sector and hydraulic equipment market, including the analysis of competitors, market trends.
  • Promote products, systems and services in the territory assigned by the organization and
  • Performing presentations, seminars, product demonstrations and training.
  • Focus on the vertical market as defined by the management team.
  • Market surveillance and competitive intelligence.
  • Control and coordinate the monitoring of sales contracts.
  • Establish a monthly calendar and weekly sales and planning reports.
  • Assist distributors & their sales team with coaching visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction (eg comments on customer complaints, establish partnerships).
  • Communicate with the internal sales and marketing department and share all relevant information about products, services and customer needs.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of the distribution network.

Profil recherché :

Required Capabilities (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering/Management or Business Administration and/or equivalent related field experience is required.
  • Technical affinity and understanding of industrial markets are required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience and well developed presentation- and commercial negotiation skills are needed.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required; all other languages are advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills, works and communicates well with internal colleagues and external customers.
  • Energetic and proactive initiator; must present a professional and articulate image.
  • Able to work to deadlines; excellent organizational skills.
  • Takes full responsibility for completion of own projects.
  • Works well with minimal supervision; self-discipline and motivation.
  • Flexible and professional approach to work.
  • Confident and assertive.
  • Good working knowledge of Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); knowledge of a CRM package is beneficial.
  • Effective and efficient traveling of at least 60-80% within the allocated region (occasional outside of the designated region) is required.
  • Structured, analytical, detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Possesses long-term and short-term planning skills.
  • Is used to work independently as well as in a team.
