As part of optimizing the performance of its information system on an IBM Mainframe z/OS environment, we are looking for a DB2 expert with strong expertise in SQL performance.
The mission primarily consists of analyzing, diagnosing, and optimizing DB2 access and SQL statements of existing programs, in order to reduce their resource consumption and improve the overall performance of critical applications.

Functions and responsibilities
• Perform performance analysis of SQL processes executed on DB2 for z/OS.
• Identify SQL queries that consume the most CPU, I/O, and execution time.
• Analyze and optimize SQL statements of existing programs.
• Analyze DB2 Access Paths and execution plans.
• Propose improvements to data access and indexing strategies.
• Analyze DB2 statistics and recommend necessary actions: RUNSTATS, REORG, BIND/REBIND, etc.
• Identify causes of performance degradation and propose sustainable solutions.
• Support development teams in improving their SQL queries.
• Participate in technical reviews and impact analyses.
• Monitor performance gains after implementing optimizations.
• Document optimizations carried out and contribute to the dissemination of good SQL practices.

Required profile :

Qualities required to succeed in this role
• Ideally 8 to 10 years of experience or more on DB2 for z/OS.
• Significant experience in analyzing and optimizing SQL performance on critical applications.
• Strong mastery of CPU, I/O issues, and data access optimization.
• Ability to analyze complex performance issues and propose concrete and sustainable solutions.
• Experience in production Mainframe environments with high volumes.
