Laboratory Manager - Perfume - Casablanca

We are recruiting for our client, an international player in the perfume and flavor sector, a Laboratory Team Manager to supervise a team of technicians and manage the daily operations of the application laboratory, in line with business objectives and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.

Main Missions

Application

Coordinate, with the support of the Application Laboratory Manager, the lab's activities: prepare samples for internal/external clients and define priorities
Act as the laboratory's point of contact for specific clients and projects
Maintain clear communication with Evaluators, Perfumers, and Sales teams on the progress of projects and sample requests, and ensure their timely completion
Contribute, with other teams, to the definition of application protocols and procedures
Use, maintain, and organize laboratory equipment safely

Team Management

Supervise a team of technicians: plan, organize, and optimize their workload
Ensure the training and mentoring of laboratory staff

Knowledge and Expertise Sharing

Develop a network of internal contacts to exchange and update knowledge
Provide technical support to Creation & Development teams, Sales teams, and external clients

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

Ensure a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment, in compliance with HSE policies
Ensure that the supervised team respects HSE requirements and understands the risks associated with the scope of activity

Job :

Profile Sought

Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field
Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar field
Minimum 2 years of experience in team and laboratory management/supervision

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Good written and oral communication skills
Team management skills
Good knowledge of HSE guidelines, good laboratory practices, and safe handling of chemicals
Good technical knowledge in perfumery: product categories, formulation, and application
Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical testing protocols
Olfactory aptitude
Knowledge in R&D and chemistry
Understanding of ISO protocols
Good command of laboratory equipment and its safe use
Ability to write and review technical documents
