Poste :

The Leuphana Transformation Lab at Leuphana University of Lüneburg is an interdisciplinary research institution dedicated to focused, collaborative, and independent research on transformation. The Lab brings together researchers from diverse disciplines and hosts five Key Subject Areas: climate futures in digital cultures, democratic resilience, organizing in times of crisis, towards a regenerative society, and companies as drivers of sustainability transformations, as well as the psychology of transformation.

The Lab is offering up to seven Postdoctoral Fellowships for outstanding researchers, with a duration of up to two years starting on April 1, 2027.

Successful candidates will join an international and interdisciplinary research environment composed of more than 20 professors and over 50 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers working at the forefront of transformation research.

As part of Leuphana's flagship program Embracing Transformation, fellows will contribute to the Lab's research activities while developing a high-quality grant proposal in the field of transformation research. They will actively participate in the scientific life of the Lab, collaborate with resident researchers and international scholars, and benefit from extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary and international exchange.

Research proposals should align with one of the Lab's three conceptual streams:

  • Epistemologies of Transformation
  • Disruption and Transformation
  • Scales and Temporalities of Transformation

Applicants may also choose to connect their proposal with one of the Key Subject Areas of Embracing Transformation, the psychology of transformation, or another discipline represented at Leuphana University.

Successful fellows will receive dedicated support throughout the grant-writing process. Funded projects are intended to be hosted by Leuphana University.

The Lab welcomes interdisciplinary research and innovative methodological approaches, including participatory research, arts- or design-based methods, and materially or visually experimental practices, as well as historical, normative, and theoretical work that seeks not only to analyze transformation but also to rethink how it is understood, experienced, and practiced.

Applications must be submitted in English (or accompanied by certified English translations where applicable).

Leuphana University encourages applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds. Applications from persons with disabilities will be considered preferentially in accordance with German equal opportunity guidelines.
