Job Title: Research engineer in microbiology and plant biotechnology

Job/Project description:
The AgroBioSciences Program (AgBS) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking an Engineer in genomics and molecular microbiology to assist in the microbial culture preparation, microbial DNA extraction, and plant RNA extraction. The candidate will be responsible for the extraction of microbial 16s RNA and ITS genes, perform the PCR, and check the quality of the extracted product. A large part of the work also includes the extraction of the microbial whole genome, extract plant RNA, evaluate plant genes expression using qPCR, etc... Assist the post-Doc, PhD, and Master students to implement their experiments and assist them in writing their End of study reports. Writing scientific papers and the preparation of the project progress report. Conduct other tacks as requested by the supervisor.
Main responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be expected to:

- Ensure the preparation of the pure microbial culture.
- Extraction of 16s RNA and ITS from bacteria and fungi.
- Extract the whole genome for the selected strains.
- Extract the mRNA from plant tissues and evaluate gene expression.
- Writing scientific papers
- Preparation of the project progress report.
- Perform other requested tasks as requested.
Profil recherché :
Education, qualifications, and experience

- The potential applicants must have a higher university degree (MSc or equivalent) in a relevant field (microbiology, molecular biology, and related fields)
- The applicant should have previous experience in performing DNA and RNA extractions.
- The applicant must have a proven experience in microbiology, especially, screening and identification of microbes using the latest technologies.
- Work experience in laboratory is required.
- Good team members building.
- Capacity to write scientific papers and project reports.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
