- Laboratory Manager for IWRI
Job Description:
The to-be recruited lab manager is expected to bring a strong managerial experience and knowledge of safety and lab procedures, to ensure that the laboratories operate efficiently for the benefit of IWRI’s research and educational staff, while ensuring the proper functioning and availability of equipment and supplies in the Institute.
Key duties:
- Take responsibility for all aspects of IWRI’s labs, including equipment, employees, supplies, software and documentation.
- Responsible for identifying lab supplies needs, drafting of technical specifications (cahier de charge), ordering, analysis of offers, and testing of equipment.
- Continuously maintaining security standards, and handling security documents to ensure that all information and data collected in the lab are kept safe.
- Assisting with the installation of new equipment and control of their proper functioning and maintenance
- Planning, scheduling, and monitoring equipment use time.
- Assisting IWRI’s lab technician with the tracking of chemicals, consumables, and gas provisions, reordering of lab supplies, managing waste disposal, and the collaboration with UM6P’s Core Lab.
- Helping IWRI’s researchers with all the tasks they are carrying out in the lab.
- Supporting IWRI’s teaching team in the Lab, and accompanying interns, students, and other laboratory users.
- Constantly monitoring the general organization, safety and order within the lab, and apply related UM6P’s HSE rules.
Profil recherché :
Criteria of the candidates:
The prerequisites for this position are:
- Licence or engineering diploma in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical or water engineering, or relevant fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Mastery of several analytical tools
- Understanding of technical protocols in English.
- Ability to report.
- Strong managerial skills, rigor, precision, autonomy, effective teamwork
- Good written and oral communication in French and English
