Poste :

Research Assistant position in process simulation
– Fixed-term Contract – 1 year

MSN / UM6P is looking for a motivated candidate to design, in-silico, specific steps of targeted industrial processes. This position is a fixed-term role with a duration of 1 year, which will ideally start on October 2022.

The successful candidate will carry out duties to the highest standard and will:

• Undertake original research on an in-silico strategy combining the development of an in-house database and predictive models to further develop a relationship between composition-properties-structure of selected materials.
• Evaluate models with industrial data for all targeted applications. 
• Follow and then develop research objectives for their own project.
• Have a strong desire to work with both academia and industrial partners.
• Communicate to the team the development, progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects/experiments are captured in as comprehensive and timely manner as possible.

Profil recherché :

An Engineering or a Master degree in materials science, or chemical engineering, or physical-chemistry or related subject.

An internship in material science (process simulation) or related subject.
Knowledge on thermodynamics and fluid phase equilibrium of materials.
Knowledge on process simulation using Aspen and/or Thermo-Calc.

Associated Skills

Excellent writing and oral communications in both English and French languages.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Good organizational skills.
Proven work experience in industry or academia is requested.
Strong IT skills.
Strong desire to develop new concepts and industrial solutions.
