Poste :
The Analytics Lab is taking part in a project led by UM6P's "center for remote sensing applications", entitled "Image4Africa", which aims to develop methods based on teledetection technics for estimating the yield gap for field crops in Africa. In particular, A-LAB will take part in the activities related to crop mapping and yield estimation. The targeted crops are cereals in Morocco and Rice in Senegal.
In this context, the A-Lab is looking for a 1-year post-doctoral student to work on this project.
The responsibilities of the position include in particular:
Conduct literature reviews on multimodal data management and processing (Sat images, IoT, weather) for geospatial projects and on data and results Visualisation;
Define and evaluate possible strategies and algorithms for processing, distributing and visualising data for the project in a paralellized architecture;
Participate in the conception of the overall IT architecture that will be used for the project;
Work closely with the development engineer of the project that will participate in the implementation of the plateform.
Publish the obtained results in high-impact journals;
Profil recherché :
Required competencies include:
a PhD in AI and remote sensing, if possible in spatial big data;
Good knowledge in geospatial Data Base and SIG;
Good knowledge on Cloud Optimized Formats (COG, ZARR, GeoParquet etc...);
Good knowledge of Python programming and C programming associated with AI libraries and cloud librairies;
Ability to write impactful articles; Fluent in French and English,
The candidate must demonstrate a high level of autonomy and scientific rigor. He/she must be a team player, with excellent adaptability and organizational skills.
