About ASARI

The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) launched by UM6P in Laayoune in 2020 within the Foum Eloued technopole project focuses on several research and development programs including biosaline agriculture, native species valorisation, camel value chain, water and renewable energy. The institute consists of a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, biochemists, molecular biologists, bioprocess specialists, animal scientist, etc to respond to regional challenges affecting marginal environments.

Job Summary

The Program Assistant will support the research program on agriculture in marginal environments by providing technical, administrative, and financial assistance. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong academic background, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude to contribute to the program's success.

Job Responsibilities

1. Technical Support

· Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of research projects in agriculture for marginal environments.

· Collect, manage, and analyze data using appropriate tools and methodologies.

· Draft technical reports and presentations based on research outcomes.

· Collaborate with research teams to ensure alignment with program goals and timelines.

· Supervise technical support team including technicians and operators

2. Administrative Support

· Coordinate meetings, workshops, and conferences, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

· Maintain records of project documents, including proposals, agreements, and progress reports.

· Liaise with stakeholders, including research partners, donors, and government agencies.

· Support communication efforts by preparing newsletters, website content, and social media updates related to the program.

3. Financial Support

· Assist in budget preparation, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

· Contribute to donor reporting by providing accurate financial and technical information.

· Monitor program budgets and highlight variances for corrective actions.

Profil recherché :

Qualifications and Experience :

Essential

· Advanced degree (Engineer, Master) in agricultural sciences and related subjects with experience in project management

· Experience in knowledge management and communication and workable Arabic and English are essential.

· Experience in working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

· Well-developed oral and written communication skills

Desirable:

· Working knowledge of PMP, statistics and database management

· Additional language skills, English and French are desirable

· Supervisory experience
