The Africa Initiative is UM6P's transformative endeavor dedicated to promoting sustainable development and innovation across the African continent. To address its mission, the Africa Initiative implements five workstreams:

• Aligning the research agenda to SDGs, Continental and other stakeholders (e.g. OCP) priorities
• Envisioning African futures in science, technology & education
• Fostering academic excellence through partnerships and Networks, and enhanced interdepartmental collaboration
• Translating innovation into impact in collaboration with UM6P entrepreneurship ecosystem and other stakeholders
• Communication, outreach & resource mobilization

We are seeking skilled and motivated staff to join our dynamic team and contribute to impactful initiatives that address key challenges and opportunities for Africa's growth at present and in the future.

Position Overview: At the Africa Initiative unit, you will be contributing to the implementation of the “Innovation Entrepreneurship” and the “Communication and outreach” flagships.

You will lead the planning and organization of workshops, training sessions, and provide advisory services to both public and private sector organizations. You will also be expected to initiate and/or maintain collaboration and partnerships in the area of Innovation and entrepreneurship with academia, research and industry. This position requires a deep understanding of innovative entrepreneurship, a passion for fostering collaboration, and a strategic approach to developing and communicating innovative initiatives. The candidate must be an effective communicator, capable of leading projects, managing cross-platform communication, and connecting innovation to entrepreneurship working with the entrepreneurial ecosystem at UM6P and beyond.

Key responsibilities:

1. Innovation-Entrepreneurship flagship

• Inter-departmental collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with the DEV department on projects related to innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa.
• Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth research on innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa to identify current trends and determine investment opportunities for youth.
• The UM6P Entrepreneurial Ecosystem:
  • Develop a good understanding and collaborative ties with UM6P's initiatives in training, incubation, and funding within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• Networking and Partnerships:
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Africa initiative’s networks and expand the collaboration and partnerships scopes to include private sector to identify and connect projects related to innovation and entrepreneurship on Africa with the relevant departments.
• Project Management:
  • Coordinate and manage innovative projects across different countries, ensuring their timely delivery and high-quality results.
• Event:
  • Contribute to the facilitation and organization of workshops/Event, ensuring active participant engagement and high-quality methodologies.
• Academic Supervision:
  • Support Master’s students in completing their final projects (PFE) on topics related to innovation and entrepreneurship.

1. Communication

• UM6P community awareness:
  • Develop targeted communication strategies and materials to increase awareness of the Africa Initiative among UM6P’s students, faculty, and staff.
  • Lead campus-wide campaigns such as posters, digital signage, and engaging activities like “Africa Initiative Week” to boost visibility and participation.
• Event representation and coordination:
  •  Garner information on Africa-focused events, activities and ongoing or planned collaborations by other departments at UM6P, andfeature them in the Africa Initiative Newsletter in collaboration with the Outreach and Communication Officer.
  • Ensure the Initiative’s representation at relevant events by managing logistics, preparing branded materials, and supporting presentations or other forms of participation.
• Content Depth:
  • Work with the Outreach and communication Officer to diversify and enhance the depth of communication content across the AI Newsletter, social media platforms, and other tools.
  • Produce engaging multimedia content (e.g., videos, infographics, blogs, and success stories) to showcase the Initiative’s impact and ongoing activities
• Entrepreneurship Communication:
  • Develop communication content specific to the Innovation-Entrepreneurship flagship. Explore ways to share this content through the AI Newsletter or other platforms, highlighting success stories and showcasing the innovation-entrepreneurship continuum.

Profil recherché :

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in management, communications or a related field.
• Deep understanding of entrepreneurship ecosystems and strategies for fostering successful and impactful entrepreneurship.
• Previous experience in facilitation, training, or advisory roles.
• Ability to travel to various project locations in Morocco or abroad if necessary.
• Proficient in English and French.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to guide multicultural and multi-institutional teams towards constructive outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on optimizing capacity building methods and facilitating collective intelligence outcomes.
