Job description:
The UM6P African Center on Air Quality and Climate Change uses environmental observations for a better prediction of the impacts on the local environment. The climate change is impacting mainly the agriculture sector causing water scarcity issues. The position is for young passionate to work within a research project on different tasks from outdoor environment monitoring to assess mitigation and adaptation strategies for climate change, as well as support the development of innovative solutions towards sustainable resources and green economy transition. This includes experimental and modelling activities on atmospheric pollutants and key climate drivers such as reactive trace gases, aerosols, clouds, greenhouse gases, and addressing impacts on air pollution and climate.
The other part of the project is essentially on Agri-PV and their efficiency to provide and manage resources: Water and Energy.
Key duties:
- Investigation on the local environment with several surveys to be conducted on site,
- Provide analysis of experimental and theoretical studies to be launched within the project,
- Facilitating the placement of equipment and tools to be more efficient and easier to implement,
- Participate in scientific events and contribute to scientific publications,
- Demonstrated understanding of operational requirements for a successful research project and managing resources.
- Ability to generate new ideas, links, and builds upon existing ideas to generate unique concepts and solutions.
- Offering support to the research team,
- Joint activities with various Institutes and Departments of UM6P,
Profil recherché :
Candidate profile:
The position is open to individuals who hold an Engineering or Master degree in the subject discipline from a recognized university. Preference will be given to those with research experience. Good communication skills, both verbal and writing are important. Fluency in French and English are preferred.
Proven track record of relevant participations in scientific conferences and events.
