Poste :
Department of Chemical & Biochemical Sciences (CBS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is currently recruiting a full-time Research Scientist in Bioconversion specializing in Applied microbiology and Bioprocesses. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong foundation in Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology, and Molecular Biology.
Successful candidates should hold a PhD in Applied Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology, or a related field, with demonstrated international experience in these areas. Proficiency in both English and French is essential. Scientist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of professors, researchers, doctoral and master’s students.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to develop bioconversion processes for transforming biomass and byproducts into valuable chemical products.
- Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing methodologies and techniques used in ongoing research, while contributing to the development of new research projects.
- Perform and optimize laboratory experiments, with a focus on microbial, enzymatic, and bioconversion processes.
- Scale up bioconversion processes from laboratory to pilot scale.
- Disseminate research results through publications and prepare patent applications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor students.
Profil recherché :
Criteria of the candidate:
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Ph.D. earned within the last five years in Microbiology, Bioprocess, Environmental Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Possess a strong academic background in applied microbiology, and anaerobic bioprocess. As well as work experience with different types of bioreactors.
- Demonstrate proficiency in biostatistics, and physicochemical and analytical methods.
- Highlight your ability to plan and execute experimental assays, as well as your success in disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Exhibit an aptitude for collaborative work and problem- solving, which are essential for effective contributions to research teams.
- Possess excellent proficiency in English as a primary language of communication, with an understanding of French being a desirable additional skill.
