Senior Legal Specialist - Casablanca - El Jadida

COBCO was established in 2023 through a joint venture between the Chinese group CNGR, a global leader in the production of materials for electric vehicle batteries, and the AL MADA group, one of the largest private investment funds in Africa.

The company is developing an industrial park in Jorf Lasfar dedicated to the manufacturing of battery components for electric vehicles. Covering over 200 hectares and involving an investment of 20 billion dirhams, this industrial park aims to produce 120,000 tons of NMC precursors, 60,000 tons of LFP components, and 30,000 tons of black mass annually.

COBCO's production will support the manufacturing of battery materials for over one million electric vehicles each year.

Poste :

• Participate in the Morocco project base, contract, rules and regulations of the legal and compliance review;
• Participating in the implementation of project related legal, compliance, risk control management requirements, participate in the construction and implementation of the project legal, compliance, risk, and internal control integrated management system,
• Participate in the construction and implementation of the project compliance management system, participate in the identification, evaluation, monitoring, reporting and response to major project risks;
• Responsible for providing professional legal support for the project base in Morocco, providing legal compliance advice, drafting, and revising project engineering, procurement, and commercial agreements, formulating legal risk prevention measures, and issuing legal opinions;
• Responsible for resolving legal disputes in project base;
• Responsible for drafting, revising and guiding the standard contract text for the use of the Morocco project base;
• Finish other legal work arranged by the leader.

Profil recherché :

• Master's degree in Law, with solid theoretical and practical experience in the legal profession, having passed the Moroccan Legal Professional Qualification Examination or Bar Qualification;
• At least 5 years working experience in corporate law or risk control, or at least 5 years working experience in a law firm; Familiar with Morocco's legal risk management, with experience in providing legal services in chemical, smelting, new energy resources and international production capacity cooperation projects (plus points);
• Strong legal management and risk prevention capabilities;
• Good command of French and English is a must (Chinese is a plus);
• Good communication, coordination, organizational skills, team spirit, rigorous and meticulous, principled, able to work under strong pressure.
