Poste :
The UM6P Corelabs is recruiting a dedicated and skilled Analytical Chemistry Technician to join our dynamic team. The Corelabs will serve as a platform to support technical and scientific research within UM6P and as a service provider to external customers. The CoreLab technician will oversee planning, directing, and coordinating the characterization platform operations, ensuring the satisfaction of both internal UM6P researchers and faculty and external clients. This role focuses on the efficient operation and management of advanced analytical tools, including continuous flow analyzers, FTIR, UV-Vis, fiber analyzers, and other sophisticated instruments, within the Analytical Chemistry Division. We are specifically seeking candidates who possess extensive experience in designing and conducting experiments using analytical instruments, and who excel in various areas, such as complex sample preparation techniques, method selection and development, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, and proficiency with software interfaces. Strong communication and analytical abilities are paramount for this role, as they play a crucial part in the successful execution of responsibilities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reception, processing, and classification of requests for analysis
- Handling of samples to be analyzed: storage, conditioning, preparation, etc.
- Independently perform hands-on experimental work utilizing characterization instruments and prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as required.
- Develop, validate, and document analytical methods and operating procedures according to specific sample or testing requirements, and maintain quality control records to ensure efficient lab process management.
- Oversee and conduct routine performance qualification of all characterization instruments, ensure traceability of experiments, and organize and archive data.
- Generate comprehensive analysis reports, interpretation and prepare well-written technical reports.
- Support researchers and boost their research activities in the best conditions by making an excellent analysis and expertise service by different heavy techniques.
- Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and workshop programs organization on analytical techniques.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Active involvement in various department activities.
- Participate in the supply and stock management of the analytical chemistry division consumables.
- Participate in the division certification process (ISO17025).
Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, biochemical, food Sciences, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Significant experience with analytical instrumentation, method development, and qualification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in handling heavy equipment for analytical chemical characterization.
- Strong collaborative skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and a proven record of teamwork.
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills (time and priority management), and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills (French and English).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task without compromising quality and accuracy.
