Poste :

Responsible for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management within a large-scale industrial manufacturing environment. Establish and continuously improve an EHS management system that complies with Moroccan regulations and international standards. Ensure regulatory compliance, employee safety, and environmental performance during both construction and operational phases, while promoting best practices in sustainable and safe manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities :
1. EHS System Development and Strategic Planning

• Establish and continuously improve the EHS management system in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and applicable Moroccan regulatory requirements.
• Develop annual EHS objectives, performance indicators, and implementation plans.
• Integrate EHS requirements into all operational and production processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement EHS policies, audit requirements, and reporting mechanisms to ensure effective governance and performance monitoring.

2. Regulatory Compliance and Government Liaison

• Monitor and ensure compliance with Moroccan labor, environmental, health, and safety legislation.
• Coordinate communications and inspections with labor authorities, environmental agencies, fire departments, and other regulatory bodies.
• Ensure all required permits, authorizations, environmental approvals, and certifications remain valid and up to date.
• Conduct compliance assessments against applicable environmental regulations and lead corrective action plans when required.
• Coordinate government inspections, external audits, and stakeholder inquiries related to EHS matters.

3. Occupational Health and Safety Management

• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments covering chemicals, machinery, electrical installations, work at height, and confined spaces.
• Implement and monitor risk mitigation and control measures.
• Oversee EHS performance of contractors, subcontractors, and construction companies, including qualification reviews and approval of work and emergency response plans.
• Lead investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses, and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage fire protection systems and emergency response capabilities, including drills and preparedness exercises.
• Coordinate occupational health programs, industrial hygiene monitoring, and employee medical surveillance activities.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including induction training, technical safety training, and leadership awareness initiatives.

4. Environmental Management and Sustainability

• Ensure compliant management, storage, treatment, and disposal of waste, hazardous materials, wastewater, emissions, and chemicals.
• Maintain traceability systems and environmental records.
• Monitor environmental risks associated with industrial operations, including chemical handling, emissions control, and environmental protection measures.
• Track energy consumption and carbon footprint indicators and support sustainability and ESG-related initiatives.
• Promote energy efficiency, resource conservation, and emissions reduction programs.
• Support biodiversity protection initiatives and maintain positive environmental relationships with surrounding communities.

5. Stakeholder Management and Supply Chain EHS Control

• Maintain effective communication with local communities, authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders regarding EHS matters.
• Conduct EHS assessments and audits of suppliers, contractors, logistics providers, and waste management companies.
• Develop contractor and supplier EHS performance evaluation processes.
• Integrate EHS requirements into supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance review processes.
• 6. Team Development and Safety Culture
• Build and develop a high-performing EHS team through clear role definition, competency development, and succession planning.
• Promote a strong safety culture through behavioral safety programs, safety observations, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Encourage workforce participation in EHS improvement programs and initiatives.
• Prepare regular EHS performance reports for leadership and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Profil recherché :

Qualifications :

1. Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

2. Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS management within an industrial or manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory EHS role.
• Experience in sectors such as manufacturing, chemicals, energy, infrastructure, heavy industry, or large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
• Experience within multinational or international industrial organizations is considered an advantage.

3. Professional Competencies

• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including implementation, continuous improvement, internal audits, and external audit coordination.
• Solid understanding of Moroccan labor, environmental, health, and safety regulations, with experience managing compliance requirements and interactions with regulatory authorities.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognized international EHS certifications are preferred.
• Proven expertise in chemical safety management, fire prevention and protection systems, emergency preparedness, and incident response.

4. Language Skills

• Fluency in Arabic and/or French, with the ability to manage professional communications, regulatory documentation, and interactions with local authorities.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, allowing effective communication within an international business environment.

5. Other Competencies

• Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organizational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound risk assessment and decision-making capabilities in complex and dynamic operational environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and support activities during both project and operational phases.
