About UM6P-CC:

The mission of the College of Computing is to seize the opportunities and face the challenges of the computing age by transforming the capabilities of academia in three key areas:

• Address the tremendous need for, and the rapidly changing content of, undergraduate and graduate computing education, particularly in: Computer Science, and evolving areas of computing such as Artificial Intelligence, Modeling & Simulation, Decision & Communication Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Microarchitecture, Parallelism etc.; computing in other disciplines including blended fields incorporating computing and other programs; and social and ethical responsibilities of computing, educating students about impacts and responsibilities of computing and how it applies to their field of study.
• Lead the rapid evolution of computing fields, both in research and education, bringing together and better coordinating existing academic and research units focused on computing as well as forging new activities and programs.
• Build collaborations in computing across UM6P, involving faculty from a broad range of fields who are engaged in computing education and research.

Context and mission:

With the rapid advancements in technology and the increasing dependence on interconnected systems, ensuring robust cybersecurity measures has become a critical concern in today's digital landscape. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) offers new possibilities for bolstering cybersecurity defences, but it also introduces novel challenges and vulnerabilities. The need for use of more proactive and adaptive approaches by shifting towards real-time assessments, continuous monitoring, and data-driven analysis to identify, protect against, detect, respond to, and catalogue cyberattacks to prevent future security incidents; is fast growing. As a result, AI is increasingly being integrated into the cybersecurity fabric and used in a variety of use cases to automate security tasks or support the work of human security teams.

To advance these efforts and within this context, UM6P is seeking to appoint an R&D engineer to contribute to the development of an intelligence-driven cybersecurity system for advanced persistent threats (APT) which will provide a dynamic defence against evolving cyberattacks; manage big data and respond to the most pressing industry challenges in the face of evolving cyber threats. This is a multidisciplinary project which requires a comprehensive approach by integrating concepts from computer science, machine learning, data analysis, cybersecurity, and real-world industrial case studies.

The selected candidate will work mainly at UM6P Ben Guerir

Duration:

The duration is 12 months

Profile:

• A degree from an Engineering school or a Masters degree in: Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning/AI or related fields.
• Solid knowledge of Machine Learning/AI and Data Science methods is mandatory.
• Strong expertise in software programming skills with Python is a must. Experience with other programming languages is a plus.
• Knowledge or expertise in Cybersecurity is a strong plus; but not mandatory.
