The laboratory is focused on the design, development, and optimization of inorganic materials for use in various sustainable energy processes and technologies. LIMSET conducts research across a wide range of applied sciences to contribute to the competitiveness of Moroccan and African companies.

Job description:

LIMSET-UM6P is seeking applications for the position of "Ingénieur de Recherche" specializing in AI-Enhanced Hydrogen Process Simulation and Storage. The candidate's responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks, including leading initiatives to develop AI-integrated simulations and models that aim to redefine industry standards for hydrogen-related processes.

The role extends beyond simulations; it also involves designing intelligent hydrogen storage solutions and continuously optimizing hydrogen production processes in real-time using AI-driven data analytics to identify and rectify inefficiencies.

This role will play a pivotal part in establishing safety protocols rooted in AI technology, with the goal of revolutionizing compliance monitoring systems and proactively mitigating risks. The candidate will collaborate closely with a team of skilled material scientists to select materials known for their durability, fostering innovations that endure in harsh environments, and addressing the long-standing issue of hydrogen embrittlement in the sector.

In this crucial phase of the sustainable energy transition, the candidate's responsibilities go beyond technical aspects. The candidate will also lead technological appraisal initiatives, staying vigilant about emerging technologies and integrating them into specific projects to enhance their chances of success. Furthermore, the candidate's expertise will be instrumental in conducting AI-aided economic analyses, providing precise evaluations of the economic factors influencing hydrogen storage and production projects.

Development and Implementation of AI Algorithms:

Develop AI algorithms to improve simulation models for hydrogen production and storage.

  • Implement machine learning models for the analysis of extensive datasets, enabling real-time optimization.

Simulation and Modeling:

  • Create advanced simulations for hydrogen-related processes, leveraging AI technologies.
  • Develop predictive models using AI to anticipate dynamic changes in hydrogen production systems.

Hydrogen Storage Solutions:

  • Design intelligent hydrogen storage systems that incorporate AI for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Implement safety protocols supported by AI technologies to ensure secure hydrogen storage.

Data-Driven Decision-Making:

  • Utilize AI for data processing and analysis, extracting valuable insights to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Take a lead role in implementing data analytics tools throughout the hydrogen production chain.

Profil recherché :

Criteria of the candidate

  • An engineering or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Material Science, AI, or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong background in AI-Enhanced Hydrogen Process Simulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, publish in high-impact journals and ensure technology transfer to industry.
  • Ability to secure external funding for research programs.
  • Proven ability to perform multidisciplinary research and contribute to funded research programs.
  • Evidence of collaboration with peers at national and/or international institutions,
  • Good experience in the supervision of students from the M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs.
  • Be autonomous, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills and problem-solving attitudes.
  •  Strong initiative, self-motivated, and commitment to achieving quality outputs and excellence.
  • Demonstrated bounding to diversity and professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and be a good team player.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals, including university professors, industry executives, entrepreneurs, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Commitment and positive attitude in rapidly changing environments.
