LIMSET, the Laboratory of Inorganic Materials for Sustainable Energy Technologies, is a group of professors, scientists and engineers dedicated to developing innovative training and research related to sustainable energy. The laboratory is focused on the design, development, and optimization of inorganic materials for use in various sustainable energy processes and technologies. LIMSET conducts research across a wide range of applied sciences to contribute to the competitiveness of Moroccan and African companies.
Job description:
The Laboratory technician will be responsible for defining, monitoring and implementing the day-to-day processes related to the management of laboratories and characterization platforms at LIMSET and including the participation in the following tasks:
- Design and execute routine laboratory experiments according to standard procedures to support the researchers and the investigation of the team.
- Take care of the good operation and maintenance of the laboratories, and characterization platforms.
- Taking care of the laboratory needs and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining of laboratory equipment, including their recalibration.
- Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids, and gases according to safety instructions.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Providing technical support to the internal and external researchers of LIMSET, when necessary.
Criteria of the candidate:
- A graduate of chemistry, physical chemistry or material science, or equivalent and a proven experience working as a laboratory technician or relevant position.
- Excellent communication skills including written and oral presentation skills in French and English.
- Comfortable handling potentially dangerous chemical substances.
- Good knowledges of management systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices.
- Use a range of software, including spreadsheets, and databases, to ensure the efficient running of the facilities of LIMSET.
- Autonomy and spirit of initiative, rigor, discretion, sense of organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and strictly follow procedures.
- Ability to work with a diverse population: national and international staff, students, researchers, professors, companies, and partners.
