About CRSA:
CRSA is a transversal structure across several UM6P Programs. Research within the center is organized around several major areas that aim to ensure the challenging Food and Water security goal in Africa, with a special focus on developing methods/tools that use multi-source remotely sensed data. The research aims to improve our understanding of the integrated functioning of continental surfaces and their interaction with climate and humans, with emphasis on sustainable management of natural resources (soil, land, water, agriculture, snow) in the context of Climate Change. One of the center’s goals is to provide a set of services and operational products to users (local, national and international) that aid in the decision support of water and food systems.
Job description:
The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is recruiting a MLOps engineer for the Remote Sensing Applications Center (CRSA) in the framework of the MorSnow project.
We are seeking an engineer with a passion for data engineering to feed our machine learning models. The objective is to assure the acquisition of the necessary data, training the models, and monitoring the models.
Key duties:
The work to be performed will include:
- Design and manage end-to-end data pipelines (acquisition, processing, storage, modeling, deployment)
- Develop and maintain backend services for ML workflows and model execution
- Deploy Machine Learning and deep learning models to production and ensure real-time data processing
- Implement monitoring tools for deployed models
- Collaborate with data scientists, developers, and research team members
Technical skills required:
The appointee candidate will be expected to demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge in Deep / Machine Learning.
- Experience in AI models deployment
- Familiarity with data acquisition tools (Google Earth engine, HTTP-based APIs, etc.)
- Very familiar with remote sensed data manipulation.
- Proficiency in containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with MLOps platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow)
- Strong knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, Xarray, RioXarray …)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Expertise in deploying web services and ML models
Profil recherché :
Profile required:
- The candidate should have a master’s degree in computer science, data science or any related field.
- Rigor, autonomy, organization and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, sense of general interest.
- Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and clients.
- Ability to work on multiple projects as needed.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, very good oral and written communication (in French and English).
- Previous work experience in a similar job is preferred.
