About Africa Initiative:

The Africa Initiative is UM6P's transformative endeavor dedicated to promoting sustainable development and innovation across the African continent. To address its mission, the Africa Initiative implements five workstreams:

• Aligning the research agenda to SDGs, Continental and other stakeholders (e.g. OCP) priorities
• Envisioning African futures in science, technology & education
• Fostering academic excellence through partnerships and Networks, and enhanced interdepartmental collaboration
• Translating innovation into impact in collaboration with UM6P entrepreneurship ecosystem and other stakeholders
• Communication, outreach & Resource mobilization

Position Summary:

The Outreach Officer will lead engagement efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa to strengthen the universitys visibility and partnerships. The role combines relationship-building with data-driven decision-making to ensure outreach initiatives are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with institutional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Outreach & Engagement :

• Design and implement outreach strategies targeting educational institutions, government bodies, NGOs, and industry partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the region.
• Build ties and initiate actions on campus in

Data Analysis & Strategic Insights :

• Collect and analyze data on outreach performance, regional trends, and student recruitment metrics.
• Develop dashboards and reports to inform strategy and optimize outreach efforts.
• Use predictive analytics to identify high-potential regions and partnership opportunities.

Communications & Content :

• Work with the communications team to create culturally relevant outreach materials and digital campaigns.
• Ensure messaging reflects the universitys commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Monitoring & Evaluation :

• Establish KPIs for outreach activities and track progress against goals.
• Prepare impact reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, International Relations, Collective Intelligence, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in outreach in international engagement.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data tools (Excel, Power BI, Python/R).
• Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Experience with CRM platforms and digital outreach tools.
• Fluency in English and French. Other regional languages is a plus.
