Poste :
The UM6P CoreLabs is a centralized and streamlined research and service platform that facilitates access to a wide array of advanced technologies, expertise, and services for UM6P researchers and external clients. UM6P CoreLabs is currently seeking a Platform Manager to join our team and lead the efficient operation and continuous development of our X-ray Characterization Platform.
We are specifically looking for candidates with extensive experience in designing and conducting experiments using various X-ray techniques, including XRD, XRM, XRF, XPS, EPMA, and related analytical methods. The ideal candidate will be proficient in sample preparation, assay development, method selection, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and software interfaces essential for X-ray instrumentation. Prior laboratory expertise with X-ray techniques is a prerequisite, while knowledge of a broad range of method developments will be considered an asset. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential for this role, as they are pivotal to the successful management of the platform and its mission to support cutting-edge research.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall platform operations, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services.
- Supervise, and develop the team of engineers and technicians working on the platform.
- Reception, processing, and classification of characterization analysis requests.
- Handling and preparation of samples: storage, conditioning, preparation, etc.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control records for efficient lab management.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations based on technical knowledge.
- Perform physicochemical characterization analyses using X-Ray techniques such as XRD, XPS, XRF, XRM, SC-XRD, SAX, EMPA, and others.
- Generate comprehensive characterization reports and ensure traceability and archiving of experimental data.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration among platform staff and UM6P researchers.
- Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Organize and participate in training and workshop programs on physico-chemical techniques.
- Participate actively in department activities, platform certification, and event organization (workshops, seminars, presentations).
- Oversee supply management and stock control for laboratory consumables.
Profil recherché :
Candidate Qualifications:
- PhD degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Material Sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in handling heavy equipment for material characterization.
- Strong collaborative skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and a proven record of teamwork.
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills (time and priority management)
- Excellent communication skills (French and English).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task without compromising quality and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
