 Job description

The Chair of Soil Sciences is currently recruiting a Project Coordinator to manage ongoing and incoming projects with various national and international institutions. The key responsibilities are presented below:

• Collaborate with Principal Investigators, Professors, Postdocs, and PhD students within the Chair, ensuring effective oversight and coordination of various projects.
• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with different departments at UM6P, including the finance and legal teams, to facilitate seamless project execution.
• Act as a liaison between stakeholders, partners, and the Chair, promoting effective information flow and ensuring alignment with project objectives and scope.
• Coordinate the preparation of high-quality reports, deliverables, and proposals, demonstrating a keen attention to detail and adherence to project timelines.
• Monitor, record, and manage the financial accounts for all projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with budgetary guidelines, and timely reporting. Maintain a transparent and efficient financial tracking system that supports the successful execution of each project and facilitates collaboration with the finance team.
• Estimate project budgets by collating information and quotations from reliable sources and utilizing financial modeling for comprehensive proposals and maintaining updated projections for effective planning and resource allocation.
• Contribute to the development of the chair through overseeing the organization of workshops and events in collaboration with the office Manager.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of the Chair of Soil Sciences, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Education, qualifications, and experience

• Bachelor, Engineering or master’s degree in management or related field
• Proven skills and experience in project coordination, minimum 3 years in this role (preferably in an academic or related institution).
• Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously with accountability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, particularly for guiding teams.
• Experience in budget development, tracking, and financial management.
• Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mastery of Software, Microsoft Office and Project Management Platforms.
