Job description:
The research assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Perform molecular dynamics and High-troughtput DFT calculations of materials used in solid-state batteries and hydrogen storage.
- Develop machine learning interatomic potentials to predict structural, thermal, and transport properties of materials for battery applications and interfaces.
- Integrate machine learning predictions with experimental data to optimize material compositions and processing conditions for improved battery performance.
- Prepare papers for publication in leading journals and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences, workshops and meetings resulting in successful research outputs.
- Support, if required, the development of proposals for research funding.
Profil recherché :
Criteria of the candidate:
- Master's degree or engineering degree, or equivalent in the fields of physics, physical chemistry, or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of ML principles, and atomistic modeling methods.
- Demonstrating strong programming skills in languages (such as Python, MATLAB) and good proficiency in setting up simulations and analyzing results
- Demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve complex engineering problems.
- Good capacity to set objectives and priorities and follow a scientific approach.
- Excellent communication skills including written and oral presentation skills in French and English.
- Ability to generate new ideas, links, and builds upon existing ideas to generate unique concepts and solutions.
- Ability to work with a diverse population: national and international staff, students, researchers, professors, companies, and partners.
- Autonomy and spirit of initiative, rigor, discretion, sense of organization and problem-solving skills.
