Call for a Research Assistant
Where: UM6P, Ben Guerir
Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension), starting in mid-November 2023
The International Water Research Institute (IWRI) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is looking for Research Assistant(s) to support A New Pan Moroccan Yield and Precipitation Gaps Platform and APP (PAMOCPP) project. This project aims at enhancing our understanding of the spatial variations in yield and precipitation gaps as well as crop calendars in Morocco.
Duties:
The duties include:
- Conducting field interviews
- Data entry and quality control

Profil recherché :
Criteria of the candidate:
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Must be graduate in Agronomy, Environmental Science, Geography, Economics, Social sciences, or any related discipline.
- Knowledge and experience in administering questionnaires
- Strong capabilities in Excel and other MS office applications
- Strong statistical analysis; empirical modeling through any appropriate models and models like SPSS.
Preferred Skills:
- Candidates should be self-motivated with an interest in dryland agriculture, water management, or climate science/change.
- Ability to work independently is an added advantage.
- Fluency in Arabic is required, fluency in local Amazigh languages and/or French is highly desired.
- Willingness to travel and undergo training.
