Job Description:
One Chemical Engineer position in The Design and Development of porous materials for Metal-ion batteries is available in CBS.GPE and MCN department at UM6P. The job vacancy involves the design, synthesis, and characterization of Derivatives Metal-organic frameworks and their composites for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries. The candidate will mainly investigate the effect of MOF’s pore size on the performance of these materials in batteries. The materials synthesis will involve the use of wet chemistry and other know solid-sate methods such as pyrolysis and carbonization under controlled atmosphere.

Required qualifications:
The candidate must hold master’s or engineer degree or or similar areas and have experience in materials synthesis and characterization with demonstrated experience in batteries applications and related disciplines. For further information, please contact samir.elhankari@um6p.ma and mouad.dahbi@um6p.ma.It is recommended that the candidate demonstrate experience in undertaking independent research, managing research activities. Fluency in English as well as a proven ability to write scientific articles are also important. The engineer should be an effective team player to interact constructively with interdisciplinary both team from CBS and MSN departments with different backgrounds.
The post requires the following skills:
- Familiar with the fabrication and characterization of porous functional materials as well as the fabrication of graphitic derived materials.
- Able to examine the textural and structural properties of porous materials using a panoply of characterization techniques such as XRD, N2 adsorption, SEM, TEM, XAS, XPS, dissolution-NMR, IR spectroscopy and TGA and other related spectroscopy techniques.
- Familiar with lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries
