Position: Research Engineer in Entomology
Duration: CDD starting from July 06, 2024.
Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Engineer to join our dynamic team with a background in entomology, biochemistry, and nutritional quality analysis assessment linked to biotic stresses. This position will be based at the College of sustainable agriculture and environmental sciences, AgroBiosciences Program, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Benguerir, Morocco. As a Research Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our laboratory, contributing to the assessment of the impact of insect pest infestation on the nutritional quality.
Key Responsabilities:
- Conduct field layout, planting, and data collecting on designed experiments as well as field surveys.
- Study of the impact of insect pest infestation on the nutritional quality of legume varieties.
- Analysis of primary metabolites and secondary metabolites linked to insect infestation.
- Identification and characterization of seeds proteins linked to pest stress
- Help in conducting surveys of insect pest
- Assist IPM research on key insect pests of stable crops.
- Contribute to writing of scientific reports, and manuscripts for publications.
- Perform any other job assigned by the supervisor.

Profil recherché :
Qualifications and Requirements:
- MSc in entomology, biology, agronomy, or comparable.
- Experience in IPM research on key insect pests of pulse and cereal crops.
- Experience in conducting biochemical and nutritional analysis of plants and seeds.
- Knowledge on experimental designs and statistical analysis relevant to Plant Protection.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic and/or French desirable.
