Job Description
The Geology and Sustainable Mining Institute (GSMI) of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a full-time Research Engineer position in the field of X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Analysis with an expected start date as soon as possible.
This position targets candidates with proven expertise in XRF analysis, particularly in the context of mineral slurry analysis. The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge project aimed at developing and optimizing an online XRF analysis system for real-time measurement of phosphorus content in phosphate slurry.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up XRF equipment and testing circuits.
- Optimize the pumping and measurement systems.
- Conduct software adaptations and preliminary testing.
- Perform hardware optimization and parameter adjustments.
- Evaluate and test new materials for system components.
- Collaborate with team members and report on progress.
- Analyze the effects of varying operational conditions.
- Supervise test runs and ensure proper system calibration.
- Produce detailed reports and recommendations based on test results.
Profil recherché :
Job Criteria
The targeted candidate must have:
- A Master/ Engineer degree. in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with XRF techniques and analysis.
- Experience with laboratory and field experiments, as well as hardware and software optimization.
- Skills in optimizing fluid analysis and pumping systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific writing.
- Strong publication record in relevant scientific journals.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
