Poste :
Peer-to-peer (P2P) learning is a novel machine-learning scheme that has proven to be a more energy-efficient alternative to centralized and federated learning methods, while achieving comparable or even superior accuracy in certain cases.
However, implementing machine learning algorithms in a P2P manner necessitates a suitable and effective hardware infrastructure different from the conventional servers typically found in data centers.
At the College of Computing in UM6P and with the research group led by Professor Robert Basmadjian, there is an available position for a Research Engineer (RE) lasting 6 months.
The role of the RE involves assisting in establishing the laboratory infrastructure for P2P learning, which includes:
1. Researching and selecting the most appropriate mobile devices and IoT equipment. It is essential that these devices have diverse hardware characteristics to create a varied lab infrastructure, comprising one or two high-powered mobile phones alongside mid-range mobile phones and IoT devices.
2. The anticipated lab setup will incorporate approximately 20 devices. The RE will also be responsible for configuring all essential software frameworks to enable the execution of machine-learning techniques in a P2P format.

- Master's degree in Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency in contemporary programming languages like Python, Kotlin, Java, etc.
- Understanding of system integration within Android and Linux operating environments.
