Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist Fellow to join our dynamic team. you will be responsible for conducting research on climate variability assessment and hydrological modeling at the catchment scale. The selected candidate will engage in cutting-edge research that bridges the disciplines of climate science and hydrological modeling related to mine water management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced analysis of climate variability using a range of observational and modeled datasets to discern patterns, trends, and potential future scenarios.
- Develop and refine hydrological model tailored for specific catchments, incorporating the nuances of local land use, geomorphology, and climatic influences.
- Explore the use of advanced AI tools for climate and hydrological modeling.
- Evaluate the potential impacts of climate change and variability on water resources, flood risk, and drought susceptibility within targeted catchments.
- Contribute to writing comprehensive reports encompassing detailed analyses and conclusive results.
- Communicate findings through the publication of peer-reviewed papers, presentations at conferences, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
Profil recherché :
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Climate Science, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience in machine learning or AI applications in hydro-climate studies.
- Strong backgroundwith GIS tools and spatial analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in climate variability assessment and the use of climate models.
- Experience with hydrological modeling at catchment scale, and familiarity with modeling tools.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a record of publications in reputed journals.
