Poste :
The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Laayoune is seeking applications for a full-time PhD thesis in the field of Agronomy and Crop Science.
The appointed candidate is expected to conduct laboratory, greenhouse and field trials, collect and analyse data, and publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate is expected to participate in an interdisciplinary team to study the potential effects of biostimulants on growth and physiology of crops grown under drought and saline conditions.
Key duties:
1. Conduct laboratory, greenhouse experiments to determine the potential effects of developed biostimulants on plant growth and physiology;
2. Investigate the ecotoxicological effects of developed biostimulants;
3. Upscale the application of potential products on crops grown under field conditions in different locations;
4. Collect and analyse data and submit papers for publication.
Requirements:
• Candidates should hold a Master or engineer degree in the field of agronomy, crop science or closely related fields. Priority will be given to the candidates having research experience in plant physiology and biotechnology;
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary research collaborations in one or more areas central to the UM6P Agricultural Sciences strategic plan is expected;
• Professional engagement with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university and externally is required;
• English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
