Job :

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily management and supervision of the transport activity. They organize human and material resources to ensure the performance of services under the best conditions of safety, quality, punctuality, and cost control.

They ensure the management of operations teams and drivers, monitor fleet availability, and optimize vehicle usage according to client needs and operational constraints.

Main responsibilities

- Operations Management
- Oversee all daily transport activities.
- Organize and plan transport operations.
- Assign vehicles and drivers based on needs.
- Develop transport schedules and plans.
- Optimize vehicle routes, trips, and rotations.
- Ensure compliance with loading and delivery deadlines.
- Monitor operations in real-time.
- Manage unforeseen events: breakdowns, delays, accidents, absences, delivery issues, etc.
- Heavy Goods Fleet Management
- Supervise daily vehicle usage.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive and corrective actions.
- Monitor fuel consumption.
- Reduce downtime and optimize fleet utilization rate.
- Management of Drivers and Operations Teams
- Lead, organize, and supervise drivers and operations teams.
- Develop driver schedules.
- Assign tasks.

The Operations Manager will monitor the main operational indicators:

Number of trips completed;
Kilometers traveled;
Empty kilometers traveled;
Vehicle utilization rate;
Fleet availability rate;
Fuel consumption;
Fuel cost per vehicle;
Maintenance cost;
Number of breakdowns;
Number of accidents and incidents;
Compliance with delivery deadlines;
Number of customer complaints;
Driver productivity;

They propose and implement actions aimed at reducing costs and improving operational productivity.

The Operations Manager prepares periodic reports for Senior Management, including:

Fleet status;
Transport activity performed;
Schedule and available capacity;
Status of immobilized vehicles;
Driver monitoring;
Fuel consumption;
Maintenance and repairs;
Accidents and incidents;
Operational incidents;
Service performance;
Customer complaints;
Main discrepancies and corrective actions.
 

Required profile :

Education:

Master's degree (Bac+5) in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain, Management, or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in transport operations, ideally in road freight transport and heavy goods vehicle management.
