About the role: The Group Legal Counsel role is part of the Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance (GFLA) organization and reports to the Head of Legal: West and Southern Africa and MMEA Corporate Affairs. You will work with a global network of legal experts and specialists to support Ericsson's business operations and innovation projects in many countries.
Key responsibilities:
Be a trusted legal advisor to senior business leaders, giving strategic legal advice that supports business goals and responsible business practices
Write, review, and negotiate complex business contracts, including customer agreements, supplier contracts, and important partnership deals
Give legal advice on company management, following rules, competition law, data protection, and intellectual property issues
Support important deals and strategic projects, making sure legal risks are found and managed while allowing business growth
Work with different teams across sales, sourcing, engineering, and product development to support business and technology projects
Keep up-to-date with and advise on legal and rule changes affecting the telecommunications and technology industries
Give legal advice related to sanctions, trade compliance, and international rule systems
Help manage disagreements, investigations, and lawsuits when needed
Provide legal training and guidance to business teams to help them understand legal and compliance requirements better
Help develop legal policies, processes, and systems that support Ericsson's global legal strategy
Work with colleagues in Legal Affairs, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and other Group Functions
Required profile :
Key requirements:
Master of Law (LL.M., JD, or similar legal degree).
Qualified to practice law in a relevant country.
7 to 10+ years of legal experience, ideally in a multinational company or a top law firm
Strong knowledge in business contracts, regulatory matters, and company management
Experience in the telecommunications, technology, software, or digital infrastructure sectors is highly desired
Strong business understanding and the ability to give practical, business-focused legal advice
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Strategic thinking and the ability to manage complex legal issues independently
Strong project management and organization skills
High ethical standards and commitment to integrity
Fluent in French and Arabic required; English proficiency required.
Willingness to travel as needed
