Job Purpose:

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing the supply chain and logistical support required to ensure smooth and efficient aviation operations. This includes managing aviation parts and equipment, inventory control, transport coordination, and maintaining compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards. This includes the management and control inventory and daily activities including receipt, storage, and release of all the tools, equipment, and spare parts used for maintenance of aircraft. Ensures all activities are carried out and recorded in accordance with Company's policies and procedures and as per regulatory bodies' rules and regulations.

Key Result Responsibilities:

Logistics Coordination:

Manage the storage and distribution of aviation parts and supplies.
Coordinate timely delivery of materials to maintenance teams.
Track the movement of high-value and time-critical parts.
Provide ad-hoc inventory and stores support in line with approved procedures.
Coordinate logistics arrangements for parts delivery, including engines, APUs, and dangerous goods.
Inventory Management:

Ensure parts and components are available on time to support planned and unplanned maintenance tasks and aircraft release.
Ensure unused issued parts are credited back to stock and returned to the main stores in line with company procedures.
Procurement & Vendor Management:

Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and support contract negotiations as required.

Documentation & Compliance:

Ensure logistics activities comply with aviation safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate documentation for traceability of aircraft parts and tools.
Coordinate customs clearance and shipping documentation for international shipments.
Transport & Freight Coordination:

Arrange inbound and outbound shipments of aviation goods and materials.
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and transport companies.
Track shipments and resolve delays or discrepancies.
Coordinate with customs and clearing agents to ensure timely delivery.
Support Operations:

Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to meet operational requirements.
Provide rapid logistical support during Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
Support logistics planning for special operations or missions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
The role is not exhaustive, and additional duties related to the job function may be assigned from time to time.

Required profile :

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with safety, compliance, and operational standards for equipment used in high-reliability and safety-critical environments (aviation/transportation sectors) and maintenance procedures, inspection standards, and troubleshooting techniques for GSE.
• Skilled in performing preventive maintenance and safety inspections to ensure operational readiness.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to equipment maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems for logging and tracking maintenance activities.
• Awareness of environmental and hazardous materials handling related to equipment servicing (e.g., fuels, lubricants, batteries).
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and test equipment for repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service bulletins.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose faults and apply effective corrective actions.
• Competent in recording and documenting maintenance activities and equipment history accurately.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet maintenance schedules and operational demands.

Work experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) or equivalent mechanical/heavy equipment.
• Exposure to working in aviation, airports, logistics hubs, transport fleets, or heavy machinery workshops is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to diagnose faults and perform corrective/preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
