Poste :
The P Curiosity Lab is an innovation lab aiming to provide/Serve rural people with the most innovative solutions that would help them overcome their daily challenges. To achieve this mission, we focus on research, and data analysis in order to be able to design, prototype, test and then deliver these solutions in the best form.
The Economic Development Data Scientist reports to the head of research unit. The primary function of this position is to manage data throughout the entire information lifecycle. This position provides strategic research, analysis, and interpretation that supports key economic development strategies and initiatives, as well as lab goals when appropriate; creates reports and presentations through data management pertaining to community characteristics, labor force, economic/fiscal impacts, and land use and commercial development that are used to drive the business objectives P-Curiosity LAB; Creates data visualizations like dashboards and interactive maps that are used for business development activities, marketing campaigns, presentations, and internal reporting.
Responsibilities for Data Scientist
- Support the collection and harmonization of data from socio-economic sources
- Support processes related to collecting, verifying, redacting, normalizing, and otherwise processing data received from multiple sources;
- Administer data calls and surveys, and will have a strong background in applying quantitative methods to produce new insight and analytical products;
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive innovative solutions for socio-econmic growth
- Mine and analyze open data or public databases to drive the decision making process
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Develop data analysis, including statistical analysis and compelling data visualizations, and development of analytical reports tailored to PCL needs
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize startups experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Profil recherché :
Profile sought:
- Master degree
- At least 5 years of experience in the same field
- Strong knowledge about Data Science
- Good English and French level
