WRI-UM6P is implementing, in partnership with Ecole Polytechnique (the X, France), a climate modeling project with the objective of developing a “North African” version of the coupled atmosphere (LMDZ) and land-surface (ORCHIDEE) components of the IPSL-Climate Model to improve the simulation of the regional climate of this part of Africa.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the numerical/IT development and implementation of the model and develop a specific configuration for simulating the North African and Moroccan climate. He/she will help in the IT implementation and maintenance of successive versions of the model and will work with the UM6P modeling team. He/she may be involved in the research activity of the modeling team and in the associated IT activities with a variable balance between the two.
