The Africa Business School (ABS) within Mohammed IV Polytechnic University (UM6P, Morocco) is recruiting Graduate Research Assistants

The Africa Business School is dedicated to creating a rigorous and inclusive center for the development of research and learning in the continent. Drawing on strong private and public support, and in partnership with Columbia University, HEC Paris, and Ecole Polytechnique, ABS aims to become a trendsetter for shaping the social and business landscape in Africa and beyond.

The school is seeking candidates with ambitious career goals, preferably with direct relevance for the African continent. Readiness to be a self-starter is essential.

The successful applicant for this position will manage the collection, maintenance, analysis and reporting of research data studies. Working under the supervision of the principal investigator, the Graduate Research Assistants will conduct and interpret statistical analyses, prepare presentations and manuscripts and coordinate study activities.

Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Manage data collection and coordination of study activities, including the development, implementation and evaluation of all operational and scientific aspects.
• Collect and analyze research data, interpret results, prepare research reports, progress reports and presentations.
• Design, develop and implement study procedures (research protocols) including the selection of appropriate methods, creation of datasets for analysis ensuring data quality and confidentiality.
• Identify and compile lists of potential research subjects in accordance with study objectives and parameters.
• Conduct literature searches, literature reviews and maintain citation databases.
• Develop or assist in the development of interview schedules; contact potential subjects to introduce and explain study objectives and protocol and to arrange interviews, either in person or by telephone
• Help to prepare research applications, data sharing agreements and study progress reports.
• Help to disseminate research findings at scientific meetings and national and international conferences.
• Communicate with co-investigators, collaborators and funders.
• Act as liaison between students/fellows and the principal investigator.
• Prepare progress reports for funding agencies.
• Attend project meetings, seminars and any other meeting locally and internationally as necessary.
• Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the projects
• Prepare, maintain, and update website materials.
• Supervise undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion, acting as liaison/mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher)
• Assist with preparation of all educational and training research related workshops and evaluation strategies.
• Assist the principal investigators in any other research related task as necessary.

Required Skills:

• Graduate degree in Business, Engineering or any other research relevant field.
• At least 2 years of research experience.
• Advanced knowledge of research methods and advanced statistical techniques.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language.
• Superior analytic and interpretive skills.
• Ability to contribute to presentations, grant proposals and manuscripts.
• Experience and proficiency using analytic software: R and SPSS AMOS (or any other SEM tool)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and bibliographic software: EndNote.
• Ability to work effectively in an inter-disciplinary team environment with minimal supervision.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills: ability to effectively collaborate with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries.
• Strong desire to pursue an international research related career.
