Platform Officer - Benguerir

The Research Equipment Management Office, attached to the Direction of Research and Innovation (DRI), has as a mission the upkeep and good functioning of the university research equipment and the support of research infrastructures to optimize the cost and efficiency of the operation.

The Research Equipment Management Office is hiring a platform officer to support the platform operations and projects. The position's main duties will include:

• Monitor the platform applications (SAP /LIMS/CMMS)
• Coordinate with the lab managers the elaboration of the equipment documentation (SOPs, SMPs, PSSRs…)
• Follow up on the process workflow originating from the implementation of the quality management system
• Maintain the lab equipment inventory and documentation updated
• Coordinate the installation, maintenance, calibration and validation of the research equipment
• Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and small repairs and qualification of the research equipment
• Participate in the lab safety tasks and assist in HAZOP studies
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, in line with the university standards
• Coordinate technical training sessions and participate in the organization of the platform events
• Participate in the preparation of the technical and scientific documents related to the research infrastructures
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, and instructions
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls

Qualifications

Engineer or master’s degree in science & technology, applied physics or chemistry

• Minimum 5 years of technical experience (academic or industrial) in an R&D field in biotechnology, analytical chemistry or applied physics
• Experience at least in one of the following fields: spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, imaging, photonics and biotechnology
• Mastery of different analytical instruments
• Strong scientific knowledge in engineering sciences
• Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team and manage challenging deadlines
• Ability to respond flexibly & positively to organizational changes
• Motivated, autonomous, and organized
• Good interpersonal skills in customer service
• Excellent writing and communication skills in French and English
