Poste :

Quantum computing is a revolutionary technology that leverages the principles of quantum mechanics to process information. Research and industrial communities are actively developing quantum processors and memories (QRAMs), pushing the boundaries of what's possible with quantum computers. At the Toubkal Supercomputer in UM6P and with the research group led by Professor Robert Basmadjian, there is an available position for a Quantum Software Engineer (SE) lasting 12 months. The role of the SE involves assisting in establishing the software stack of quantum computing for the high-performance computing infrastructure of Toubkal, which includes:

1. Designing and implementation of quantum software that can harness the power of quantum computing. For instance, the SE will adapt QRAM algorithm(s) for querying information to run efficiently on an HPC environment of Toubkal.

2. Creating/extending open-source software tools to simulate quantum systems such as QRAMs on classical supercomputers, helping validate quantum software before deploying on actual quantum hardware. This might include using libraries like Quantify, Qiskit or Cirq in combination with HPC frameworks of Toubkal.

3. Optimizing quantum software to ensure it runs efficiently on Toubkal, which involves fine-tuning the code to maximize the use of parallel processing and memory management. Both CPU and GPU technologies will be tested.

4. Involving in improving/installing the quantum software and library stack of Toubkal such as Ocean, Qmatcha_tea (https://pypi.org/project/qmatchatea/), Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane, Pulser, Qibo, and Cuda-Q (https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-q).

5. Performing rigorous testing of quantum applications to ensure accuracy and reliability, using benchmarking techniques against known outputs from classical algorithms.

6. Documenting the work and providing guidance if needed to other team members or users on how to best utilize quantum resources within the Toubkal ecosystem.

 

Profil recherché :

Desired Qualifications:

1. Strong team player with a passion for exploring and deploying small-scale systems.

2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Physics.

3. Proficiency in contemporary programming languages like Python, C, C++, Java, etc.

4. Strong knowledge of Linux operating system as well as interacting with HPC systems using SLURM
