Description:
The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Laayoune is seeking applications for a full-time Research Assistant in the field of Agronomy and Crop Physiology.
The appointed candidate is expected to conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field trials, collect and analyse data, and order consumables and equipment as requested. The successful candidate is expected to participate in an interdisciplinary team working on identifying traits of interests for adaptation and tolerance of crops to drought and salinity.
Key duties:
- Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments to select adapted germplasm to drought and salinity in dry-desertic conditions
- Determine the agronomic and physiological responses of crops to different abiotic stresses
- Determine the genetic diversity and gene expression of collected germplasms subject to abiotic stresses
- Collect and analyze data and order consumable and equipment as needed.
Profil recherché :
Requirements:
- Candidates should hold a Master or engineer degree in the field of agronomy, crop science or closely related fields. Priority will be given to the candidates having research experience in plant physiology, plant phenotyping, and molecular biology
- Professional engagement with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university and externally is required
- English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
