Job Title: Research Engineer in Biotechnology, Metabolic Engineering, Molecular and Cell Biology (Determinated Contract of 24 Months)
Job description:
African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) – Laayoune, is seeking applications for two years contract as Research Engineer in the field of Biotechnology, Metabolic Engineering, Molecular and Cell Biology.
Candidates should hold a PhD in Biotechnology, Metabolic engineering, molecular and cell biology.
Ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university and externally is required.
Evidence of research excellence is expected. Strong English and French communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
Key duties:
Successful candidate is expected to:
- Have a strong expertise on cell biology
- Knowledge and familiarity with epigenetic and in vitro culture
- Have a strong experience in regulating and metabolic modulation pathways for the over-production of specific bioactive molecules
- Have a strong expertise on biochemical characterization and molecular biology: gene function and expression using RTqPCR, gene silencing and overexpression analyses, enzyme activity, western blot experiment, electrophoresis, RNAi, siRNA, miRNA studies, and flow cytometry
- Have a strong expertise in data analysis with statistical software
- Publish the results of personal and sponsored research in international journals refereed by his/her peers
- Pursue and/or propose scholarly and professional activities that will keep him/her at the leading edge of his/her field
Profil recherché :
Criteria of the candidate:
- PhD in Biotechnology, Metabolic Engineering, Molecular and Cell Biology. from a recognized University
- Strong experience in the field of Biochemistry, molecular biology, and Biotechnology
- Ability to generate new ideas, links, and to build upon existing ideas to generate good concepts and solutions
- High publication record in leading international and well ranked journals
- Maintains positive attitude in the workplace
