Poste :
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for Research engineer in geophysics and soil mapping or related subjects:
- Agro-geophysics
- Soil mapping
- Irrigation
- Precision agriculture
The successful candidate is expected to provide high technical and scientific expertise in the field of geophysical techniques applied to soil science and agronomy, soil mapping and geostatistical tools, and precision agriculture. She/he will contribute to the development of new approaches and methods for soil characterization, crop phenotyping, irrigation monitoring and crop fertilization.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Conduct geophysical prospections for soil characterization and mapping
- Conduct agronomic field experiments
- Data collection and running geostatistical analyses and modeling
- Evaluate new techniques and approaches for soil mapping, irrigation and fertilization monitoring
- Develop new digital applications for soil mapping
- Write technical reports and scientific papers
- Supervision of undergraduate students
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary research team activities
Profil recherché :
Qualifications and experience
- Engineering degree in geophysics, soil mapping, agronomy or related fields
- 2 years experience in research and development activity
- Strong methodological and multidisciplinary skills
- Computer programing and software development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
Contract
Fixed-term contract (1 year, renewable once)
