Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientific Computing Engineer with a specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in CFD calculations, with additional experience in structural analysis considered a significant bonus. A PhD in a related field is highly desirable. The candidate should also be proficient in various programming languages pertinent to scientific computing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced CFD simulations to analyze fluid flow, heat transfer, and related physical phenomena.
- Develop, validate, and optimize computational models for various applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CFD results into broader project objectives.
- Conduct structural analysis to assess the integrity and performance of systems and components.
- Utilize and develop scripts or software tools to automate and enhance simulation processes.
- Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and/or internships, and provide technical guidance as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in applied mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- PhD in a related field is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CFD calculations and analysis.
- Experience in structural analysis is a bonus.
- Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM).
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus) is advantageous.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, or Fortran.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Solid understanding of numerical methods and algorithms used in scientific computing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
