Research topic and Job description Agricultural Innovation and Technology Transfer Center (AITTC) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for 3 years contract as PhD student in the field of Bioprocesses and biomass valorization in agriculture. Candidates should hold a master’s degree (Bac +5) in Environmental sciences, Biotechnology, or Biomass valorization (or equivalent). As a PhD student, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing scientific research related to sewage sludge treatment by anaerobic digestion at the laboratory scale. Agronomic trials involving sewage sludge- based digestate will be carried out at the experimental farm of UM6P in the framework of this position. The successful candidate will be working jointly between AITTC (UM6P Benguerir) and ASARI (UM6P Laayoune). Key duties Successful candidate is expected to: • Have a good experience in lab/fieldwork; • Conduct/manage research activities related to anaerobic digestion and agronomic trials under greenhouse and/or field; • Collect support and process samples for routine laboratory tests; • Collect support and process samples for routine laboratory tests; • Manage different assignments in lab and field and/or • Develop an interdisciplinary approach. • Perform data analysis and interpretation. • Write reports and articles. Criteria of the candidate • Master’s degree in environmental sciences, Biotechnology, or Biomass Valorization from a recognized University. • Strong laboratory skills, ideally with skills in anaerobic digestion. • Positive working, attitude and ability to work both in a team and independently. • Strong French and English communication skills, both verbal and written are required. • Rigor / organization
