Mission and main activities:
As part of the transformation and modernization of fixed networks, we are looking for a Telecom Engineer to contribute to the studies and preparation of the decommissioning and removal operations of copper network infrastructure.
The position covers the entire study cycle: analysis of existing infrastructures, identification of affected equipment and cables, definition of decommissioning scenarios, production of technical documents, and support for the execution of operations.
Technical Studies
• Analyze data and documentation related to copper network infrastructures.
• Study network plans, diagrams, and databases to identify affected equipment and connections.
• Identify equipment, cables, distribution points, sub-distribution points, and other elements that may be affected by decommissioning operations.
• Verify the consistency between theoretical data and information available in the field.
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyze the technical impacts of operations.
• Propose decommissioning scenarios adapted to technical and operational constraints.
Preparation of Decommissioning Operations
• Define the technical scope of operations.
• Prepare the documents and deliverables necessary for carrying out the work.
• Identify prerequisites, dependencies, constraints, and risks associated with operations.
• Verify the availability and quality of data required for execution.
• Coordinate exchanges with various stakeholders: network teams, operations, works, project owners, and partners.
Monitoring and Control
• Track the progress of studies and decommissioning operations.
• Control the conformity of work completed with approved studies.
• Update databases and network documentation after completion.
• Produce indicators and reports related to the activity.
Telecom Engineer degree.
Required skills:
Required technical skills:
• Good knowledge of fixed telecom networks, especially copper networks.
• Understanding of fixed access network architecture: distribution points, sub-distribution points, cables, lines, and associated equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and analyzing telecom plans and diagrams.
• Experience with mapping tools / GIS / network databases appreciated.
• Good command of Excel and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of telecom network study, design, or operation processes.
• Awareness of data quality issues and repository updates.
